Adobe has settled into a routine of publishing updates for its software on the second Tuesday on each month, in line with Microsoft’s practices. Today Adobe announced updates for Flash and Reader/Acrobat.
Both the Flash bulletin and the Reader/Acrobat bulletin are a bit light on details, saying only that the updates address critical vulnerabilities in the software.
The release notes for the new version (13.0.0.214) of Flash go into more details, although most of the information is about new features.
As usual, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer on Windows 8.x will be updated automatically and via Windows Update, respectively.
Another new version of Google’s web browser was released yesterday. Version 34.0.1847.131 includes the latest version of (embedded) Flash, as well as several stability improvements. Nine security flaws were also fixed in this version.
Version 34 of Google Chrome was announced yesterday. The new version includes fixes for numerous security vulnerabilities, some minor enhancements, and stability and performance improvements.
Yesterday, Adobe announced a new version of Flash, 13.0.0.182. The new version includes fixes for several security vulnerabilities (including one of the two found at Pwn2Own), as well as numerous other bug fixes and enhancements. There are also some new features, but these are mostly of interest to developers. The official release notes page has all the details.
As usual, the integrated versions of Flash in Internet Explorer 10 and 11 will be updated via Windows Update, and Chrome’s integrated Flash will be updated automatically by the browser itself.
The recent Pwn2Own contest revealed security vulnerabilities in several software products, including Google Chrome.
Within hours, Google corrected the flaws in Chrome and released new versions. The new Windows version is 33.0.1750.154. The official announcement provides additional details.
Version 33.0.1750.117 of Google’s web browser contains a whopping 28 fixes for security vulnerabilities. Anyone using Chrome should make sure that it has updated itself to the new version.
